The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a contract for legal advice and support to participate in the UK Government Covid-19 Public Inquiry.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The process of supporting the Health Board to provide comprehensive and relevant disclosure and thereafter provide ongoing advice and support in relation the production of witness evidence and the review of the evidence of other participants, represents a major undertaking for the small (3 person) in house Inquiry team that has been established to lead this work. Accordingly, the Health Board are looking to source additional capacity and support from external solicitors.

The Health Board will require support and advice to enable the Health Board to comply, in a timely and efficient manner, with preparation for and responses to requests made of it by the Inquiry. This will include but is not limited to, disclosure obligations and the preparation of witness evidence.

Further requirements are outlined in the specification document.
