Description
Framework for the provision of a service to supply Parenteral Nutrition for Adult, Paediatric and Neonatal products. Standardised Licenced PN bag with fixed nutritional composition to which vitamins, trace elements and electrolytes have been added by the supplier at the request of the Trust, therefore making an unlicensed finished product. The Tender will split into three categories: 1.Standardised Unlicensed PN bags compounded to a standard composition (either Trust or company formulation) 2. as above but to which pharmacy departments may choose to make vitamin, trace element and electrolyte additions locally in their aseptic facilities. 3. Fully bespoke PN bags where the supplier provides PN bags to a specified nutritional composition with or without vitamins, trace elements and electrolytes. It is accepted that these products will have very limited shelf life and therefore a critical aspect of the supply will be the lead time between the supplier receiving the request and the pharmacy receiving the product. EMPC are looking at other compliant options to market which includes investigating other current contracts for suitability due to the complex needs and demands of our member Trusts.
