Salford City Council is seeking to identify a suitably qualified organisation to continue the delivery and development of our comprehensive, citywide, cross-tenure Handyperson Service to older and vulnerable people.
The impact of handyperson type interventions is well evidenced and includes improved wellbeing, independent living and easier access to appropriate services. For example:
• small home repairs on reducing the risk of falls
• home security improvements on reducing burglaries
• minor home adaptations on reducing falls
• hospital discharge on reducing falls and maintaining independent living
• installation of smoke alarms on reducing death and injury caused by fires.
