two.2.4) Description of the procurement

SAC Consulting Veterinary Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of SRUC, provides advice and laboratory services to thousands of customers in Great Britain, Ireland and Worldwide. We employ over 25 vets who have the backing of around 100 scientific and support staff. Operating to ISO17025, we provide a practical approach coupled with strong scientific knowledge. Our services are delivered through a network of eight Disease Surveillance Centres located across Scotland, with all testing activities carried out at our Central Analytical Laboratory (CAL) located on the Pentland Science Park, EH26 0PH.

Under this contract the Supplier is required to provide and deliver SRUC’s requirement for BVD Ab Elisa Test Kits. At current levels, SRUC carries out circa 60,000 tests per annum. SAC Consulting Veterinary Services has a clear responsibility to its stakeholders, including commercial and non-commercial clients, Cattle Health Certification Standards (UK), and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service to select test kits that best support stakeholder’s interests.
