The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a contract for CR8 - Non-Recyclables & Bulky Waste Collection for Cardiff and Vale University Hospital for a 2-year period with 2 years extension at yearly intervals.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest NHS (National Health Service) organisations in Wales. We employ approximately 14,500 staff and provide health services to a population of around 472,400 people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Having previously adopted a contract methodology focussing on non-recyclable waste and dry mixed recycling Cardiff and Vale Health Board is looking to maintain this scheme, with a view to adopt a fully segregated waste and recycling scheme in accordance with anticipated Welsh Government legislation and supporting the move to a circular economy in Wales. We are seeking a potential Contractor to assist us in managing the successful transition to this innovative approach under a 2-year contract with 2 years extension option at yearly intervals.
