two.1.4) Short description

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) are seeking to establish a contract with a single supplier to provide a turnkey package to provide a small Hydrogen Refuelling Solution (HRS), including service, maintenance and repairs, at one owned site. The HRS will initially fuel the Networks Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) cars, Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo. It is envisaged as the availability of HFC vehicles in the UK increase over the coming years we will be looking to fuel any future Hydrogen powered vehicles (cars, vans, buses, and HGV) from this solution.

The supplier must have the capabilities and capacity to complete all aspects of the project from start to finish, including on site project management, civils, electrical, mechanical, delivery, labour etc.

The supplier must supply and install all required equipment and components. Including dispensing, storage, compression, and chilling.

The HRS must be able to successfully fuel and dispense at both 350bar and 700bar.

The HRS must be quick fill, fully filling the vehicle within 15minutes.

It is envisaged the HRS will quick fill one car per day, meaning the initial daily usage will be approximately 5kg of Hydrogen. The HRS must have the flexibility to increase daily usage in the future and accommodate back-to-back fills.

The HRS equipment and components must be user friendly, minimal maintenance and have the smallest practicable footprint.

The supplier must provide any civils required to make site good for all required equipment and components to be stored and accessed, including access and egress to the dispenser and delivery of fuel.

Whilst the supplier is not required to provide the delivery of hydrogen to site it would be advantageous for the supplier to be able to and / or as a minimum advise of hydrogen suppliers.

The owned site has plans to produce Hydrogen on site in the future and this could potentially be used to fill the HRS, with this in mind the suppliers HRS must have an open Hydrogen source to enable this.

The supplier must adhere to and ensure all equipment meets all UK and EU standards and regulations, including pressure equipment, fire safety etc.
