two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Our current Education Management System contract will expire in November 2025, and it is planned to start work now on our future vision to allow the authority time to refine its system scope and requirements, for a longer-term contractual arrangement. The Authority’s ambition is for change, we are looking at digital partnerships with future suppliers and moving away from services being procured as “like for like”. We are open to exploring the market to identify technology providers who may not currently be active in the education management system market but who do have both the capability and desire to work alongside an ambitious Local Authority as a system development partner. We are open to a “best of breed” conversation and are not wedded to one system to fit all – the key for our authority is purchasing systems that work for the teams using them – creating the most efficient use of technology to allow our teams to work effectively for our residents. This includes the simple platform level sharing/exchange of and use of data allowing us to work collaboratively across our complex Local Authority system and with partners, with a view to providing insight that informs effective decision making.
We are seeking discussion with those organisations with sufficient development and technology infrastructure to build and deliver a high quality, secure and user friendly systems that harness the best that technology offers to digitally enable our education teams and the citizens of Essex in the education services arena.
Where you think your organisation could meet the challenges of delivering a modern system capable of enabling the authority to be compliant with ongoing education statutory and regulatory obligations, please send your expression of interest to the below by 12, noon 31st January 2022:
