Under the current arrangements National Highways stores salt at Ellesmere Port, Garston, Ridham, North Killingholme and Shapness. In the event of a prolonged and severe winter this salt would be made available to Local Highway Authorities.
The subject of this procurement is the storage arrangements, stockpile management and sheeting supply/maintenance, within the North West, North East and South of England.
