The aim of this procurement is to deliver the diagnostic skills of Consultant Dermatologists directly to GP Practices through a tele-dermatology app. Once advice is deemed necessary by the Primary Care Clinician, every skin related referral can be sent through this channel using practice Healthcare Assistants and administration staff to upload the patients present history and photographs.
Where a patient is unable to attend a face to face consultation with the referrer, the provider will ensure that a remote access platform can be utilised. The key drivers for the development of a community dermatology service are to provide a local, more accessible and cost effective service for patients. It is expected that this service will:
• Improve outcomes for people with skin tumours and skin conditions
• Integrate service delivery in Dermatology
• Provide high quality care for all
