Grit
With the exception of the Cumbria region, the Company’s grit is collected from Wastewater sites by the suppliers and transported to one of two UUW sites listed above, where the grit is tipped onto designated areas within the site’s. The company then undertakes the services of windrowing, tromelling and transporting the grit to restoration sites.
At present within the Cumbria region, Grit is taken to Landfill due to the travel costs of transporting the grit from the Cumbria region to the 3 grit sites. However the company is constantly striving to improve compliance performance and as part of this tender process will be looking for the most commercially sustainable route for the disposal/recycling of Grit within the Cumbria area.
Screenings
Sludge Screenings are currently collected from Wastewater sites by the suppliers and transported to landfill where they are disposed of. The Company and its incumbent suppliers continually review any alternative recycling options for screenings, however at present this waste stream continues to be taken to landfill until a commercially sustainable alternative can be found.
Scope of Requirements
The Company is reviewing the market to gain knowledge of suppliers who are able to provide the following Services:

• Container maintenance and replacement
