The University is looking to contract approximately 250ha of planting accross two new woodland creation sites at Sherrifmuir and the Pentlands. This will comprise of a mix of majority broadleaf planting with a smaller element of conifer as well as vole guard installation and possible fertiliser application, with planting to begin February 2025. Further to initial planting, the University is seeking to contract beat up planting and maintenance for the five years following the initial establishment. The majority of planting will take place on prepared and mounded ground with a smaller element of flat planting/screefing being required.
