two.2.4) Description of the procurement

UU Laboratory Services have a commitment to provide a high quality analytical service with rapid turnaround/reporting of results. We require a Supplier to provide a stock management system for the supply/deliver of consumables to the laboratory on site (the stores area is potentially not adequate to store everything, the Supplier may be required to store stock).

UU is open to different methods of stock management, these include but not limited to:

• Supplier provides a stock management system with a managed account. This would include remote/in person support to run stock level reports, generate replenishment orders, deliver the items and to replenish stock when delivered. There will also be a requirement for the Supplier to undertake stock audits on a regular basis and produce management information on a regular basis.

• Supplier provides a stock management system but also stores small quantities of stock on behalf of UU. UU staff would then order via a catalogue type system and orders would be delivered by the Supplier to the storeroom. There will also be a requirement for the Supplier to undertake stock audits on a regular basis and produce management information on a regular basis.

The number of samples analysed fluctuates. Requirements for different products will increase/decrease accordingly, become redundant/required. Sufficient flexibility to manage potential changes of products is required.

Consumables will be used across four teams. To monitor correct spend within each team, the Supplier must provide a stock management system with the ability to not only back order stock that is used, but to assign which team has used the supplies.

The key aims of the supply contract are as follows:-

• Ensure products are delivered on time and meet the required level of quality required

• With sufficient flexibility of supply to meet both day to day operational requirements and hikes in demand in the event that the requirement for analysis increases above normal levels
