two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Wiltshire Council is seeking to create a framework of Public Health Service providers to provide the following services; NHS Health Checks, Smoking Cessation, Contraception Services (Long Acting Reversible Contraception) and No Worries Young People’s sexual health services.

Lot 1 will comprise of the provision of commissioned Public Health Services in GP Practices for residents of Wiltshire. General Practices must have a valid 6-digit ODS (‘prescribing cost centre’) code. The Practice should be in the Wiltshire Council administrative area or on the border providing health services to registered Wiltshire residents.

Services provided will include:

Smoking Cessation

No worries (Sexual Health Services)

Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

NHS Health Checks

These services will be available to all Wiltshire residents registered at a Wiltshire GP Practice or accessing the service in a Wiltshire Pharmacy. The contract will be for an initial period of five years with an extension option of up to five years. The service will commence on 01 April 2024.

The NHS Health Checks programme is a national programme which aims to identify patients early and provide early intervention or treatment based on an individual’s risk factors of cardiovascular disease. NHS Health Checks is a proactive preventative programme that invites adults aged between 40 and 74 in England for a health check-up every five years to screen for key conditions including heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and stroke.

Smoking cessation services aim to aid smokers to quit by providing behaviour change support and access to stop smoking medications is pivotal in driving down smoking prevalence in Wiltshire. Long-Acting Reversible contraception service is for adults who seek information on all methods of contraception to prevent unintended pregnancies.

No Worries young people’s sexual health service aims to offer a friendly, non-judgemental advice and information service to Wiltshire residents aged 13-24. Services available include access to free condoms, pregnancy testing kits, emergency contraception, opportunistic chlamydia testing for women and those with a womb, Chlamydia treatment for Chlamydia positive young people and their partners.

Wiltshire Council is seeking to create a framework of Public Health Service providers to provide the following services; NHS Health Checks, Smoking Cessation, Contraception Services (Long Acting Reversible Contraception) and No Worries Young People’s sexual health services.

Lot 2 is for the provision of services from Pharmacies who have suitable premises in Wiltshire. Pharmacies must be registered with GPhC and be already signed up to Pharmoutcomes and have suitable premises to provide private consultations in the Wiltshire Council administrative area.

Patients must be registered as living in Wiltshire.
