The House of Lords and the House of Commons are intending to establish a sole supplier, bicameral parliamentary framework for the supply and installation of furniture and associated services. The supplier will work closely with In-House Services and Estates (IHSE) who are custodians of the parliamentary estate and whose purpose is to ensure welcoming, safe, inclusive facilities and services for staff who work on the estate and the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the estate each year. The framework duration will be four years.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The House of Lords and the House of Commons are intending to establish a bicameral parliamentary framework for the supply and installation of furniture and associated services. The single source supplier will work closely with IHSE to deliver a space efficient working environment and will support the Authority to standardise on workspace furniture and to secure products that minimise environmental impact. Covering an extensive area and, with a unique built environment, the parliamentary estate is home to thousands of employees with differing workstyles and furniture requirements. In addition, the estate welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year who include tourists, school parties and delegates attending events on the estate. Continuing a programme of essential building upgrade works (mechanical, electrical and security), furniture is being replaced where required as to improve space usage and building efficiency. The scope of the framework will include but may not be limited to supply (including hire), installation of standard office / break out furniture; supply and installation of modified standard furniture (as may be required to support specific working arrangements) and supply and installation of bespoke furniture in the instance that no standard product can satisfy end user and / or other requirement(s). The successful supplier will also be required to provide a full management service and to support the work of IHSE in expediting furniture at the right time; to the required and relevant standards and who will support the Authority in its desire to standardise office workstations and to secure products in the market that has least impact on our environment.

Please note this is a Prior Information Notice and there are no tender documents to download or submit at this stage. A contract notice will be issued to signal commencement of the formal procurement process. It is anticipated that this will be issued during Q1 2022.
