Bath and North East Council is seeking to recommission the community services that have been part of a prime provider contract model since 2017. The services to be recommissioned are wide ranging and focus on improving outcomes for adults and informal carers and contributing to preventing and tackling health inequalities, and preventing, reducing or delaying need to statutory care.
Community services being considered for recommissioning are:
o Information, advice and guidance
o Prevention and yearly targeted support, including independent living support
o Support for carers
o Day opportunities for adults and older people
o Support for people with dementia
o Community based and accommodation-based support for people with needs linked to mental health
o Community based and accommodation-based support for people with learning disabilities, autism and neurodiversity
o Support and provision of equipment for people with sensory impairment
Bath and North East Somerset Council are hosting two provider market engagement events to inform the market on strategic drivers for this commissioning, the case for change and emerging future commissioning intentions.
The first event will be held for incumbent community services providers and will be by invitation only.
The second event will be open to the wider market (along with existing providers):
