The Council wishes to establish a Contract for the provision of Treatment of Food Waste arising within the district. The Council is managing this procurement in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Council has a statutory duty to collect and arrange for the receipt and disposal of household waste and other waste arising within Bath and North East Somerset. This includes domestic waste collected direct from householders at the kerbside and waste taken to its three Household Waste Recycling Centres.
The Council currently collects approximately 8,000 tonnes of Food Waste from its residents and businesses within Bath & North East Somerset. There are plans to expand the current collection service to cover all homes within the district and encourage further business take up of services to increase diversion from disposal outlets.
A treatment option is required which can sustainably treat Food Waste maximising the value to the environment.
The Council requires a collection service for bulked Food Waste collected via its kerbside service to households from its Keynsham depot. It also requires a direct delivery point for Food Waste collected via dedicated commercial services vehicle.
The contract will commence on 1st March 2022 and continue for an Initial Term of 7 years with an option for the Council to extend the Contract for up to a further 3 years.
