The A229 Blue Bell Hill Improvement Scheme aims to improve the safety, capacity, and connectivity of the A229 corridor between the M2 and M20 motorways in Kent. The road is a key link between the two motorway corridors and between Maidstone and Medway.

The project is currently in the outline design and outline business case stage as part of the Large

Local Majors (LLM) Department for Transport (DfT) funding programme.

As part of the assurance process, the project will undergo independent stage gate reviews at key

milestones to assess its readiness, quality, and compliance with the DfT's requirements and

guidance.
