Scope
Description
Connectivity in the Pennine region and across the operating area of TransPennine Trains Limited "TPT" can be 'patchy' as you pass between inner city, urban and significantly rural areas with 4G/5G reception being poor and not providing suitable bandwidth for the modern traveller.
TPT want to engage the market to understand the options available for improving connectivity before defining the requirements and determining the best route to market.
TPT are interested to here from suppliers who provide any of the following services;
•On Train Communications, Network systems and Customer Wi-Fi
•Mobile Connectivity for Staff and Connected Devices
•Customer Wi-Fi at Stations
•Linked Cyber Security Provisions

Objective of the PME
TPT has included questions for interested parties to review and respond to. The aim of these questions is for the following reasons;
•Understand the current market
•Help refine scope
•Define the procurement structure and route to market

oRoute to market example - Customer Wi-Fi at Stations via a CCS Framework, Mobile Connectivity for Staff and Connected
Devices via a Procurement Act Tender.
Following closure of the PME period, TPT may, at its discretion, follow up with a select number of interested parties for further information to help achieve the objective.
For the avoidance of doubt, any information provided by any party will be treated as indicative information and not legally binding. Parties who do not respond to this PME notice will not be excluded from any future procurement activities related to this scope.
