The University of Manchester (UoM), with funding through CRUK RadNet, in collaboration with the Christie NHS foundation Trust plans to develop a new pre-clinical proton beamline.
This new beamline will be situated in the research room at the Christie Proton Therapy Centre, Manchester, UK, and operate in conjunction to the existing beamline for in vitro research. The new beamline will branch from the existing beamline using a dipole magnet.
Interested parties are invited to make contact to express an interest in tendering for supply of beamline design, construction and installation.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and University of Manchester are calling for expressions of interest to this Prior Information Notice (PIN) from suitably qualified companies to partner in supporting and developing the Christie 2nd Proton Research Beamline.
The scope of this project includes all beamline elements from and including the dipole magnet, up to the target position. End-stations for pre-clinical research are out of scope.
We are asking for a single supplier for all beamline elements, including :
• Magnetic elements, quadrupoles, dipoles
• Energy degrader system, beam extraction vacuum windows.
• Beam monitoring elements, Beam profile monitors, faraday cups
• Power supplies
• Vacuum envelopes
• Control hardware and software, including integration with cyclotron beam request hardware.
• Electrical cabling to our distribution board,
• Water cooling tubing and flow gauges to our existing water cooling manifold,
• Support structures.
• Modification to the structure of the room where necessary.

The Chritsie NHS Foundation Trust is issuing this PIN as a request for expressions of interest and to alert the market to a possible future tender opportunity.
It is important to note that this PIN is not a call for competition and as such potential providers will need to express interest in any future tender opportunity once a contract notice is published on the Find a Tender Service and on Contracts Finder.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is utilising the ProContract procurement tendering portal to manage this process and as such interested individuals and organisations will need to register on the portal to express their interest and access further information about the requirement.
Interested parties will also have the opportunity to have informal discussions with the project team.
