NPAS is seeking experienced EO and IR technical expertise to lead the delivery of the following:

Identification of the areas of functionality/performance that a sensor system should be assessed against, with detail of the parameters/range of expected capability.

Converting this data/criteria into a format which will be used for tests and trials of available sensors

Producing test scripts and operational procedure manuals which will be followed for the testing and trialling of sensor systems.

Coordinating the actual tests and the capturing of all performance data, including video footage for assessment and review.

Analysing the test results and producing detailed reports

Performance specification for a sensor system that would deliver all of the operational use-cases

A report on the current sensor system marketplace and technology.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

.NPAS is seeking experienced EO and IR technical expertise to lead the delivery of the following:

1. Identification of the areas of functionality/performance that a sensor system should be assessed against, with detail of the parameters/range of expected capability. This will be developed using NPAS and England and Wales Policing operational ‘use-cases’ for RPAS.

2. Converting this data/criteria into a format which will be used for tests and trials of available sensors and also in a format which will be usable for any future evaluation and selection of sensor systems. The functionality to be assessed will include the range of FOV, resolution, IR sensitivity and image stability.

3. Producing test scripts and operational procedure manuals which will be followed for the testing and trialling of sensor systems.

4. Coordinating the actual tests and the capturing of all performance data, including video footage for assessment and review.

5. Analysing the test results and producing detailed reports and of the sensor systems’ performance using an agreed system of rating or grading.

6. Performance specification for a sensor system that would deliver all of the operational use-cases and meet (and also surpass) the developed testing criteria and performance ranges.

7. A report on the current sensor system marketplace and technology and the ability for the performance specification to be met.
