two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Network Rail is exploring the availability of train borne drain clearance for use under a long term contract to continue to serve demand from Scotland and Southern regions, and potentially expand the areas served and the scope of the drainage service. Material to be cleared from drains will include compacted sewage, bricks, ballast and silt. To be clear Network Rail has alternative existing services for rail-road vehicles and manual drainage clearance which are out of scope of this market enquiry.
Currently the demand of about 350 shifts per annum.
