Brief Description of Requirement
NERC and The Crown Estate are co-funding the Ecological Consequences of Offshore Wind research programme (ECOWind), which has a £7m budget to fund projects that will enhance understanding of the ecological consequences of the planned expansion of offshore wind in the context of increasing pressures on UK marine ecosystems and provide evidence to inform marine policy and management.
This procurement is for the ECOWind Champion role which will be critical for the successful day to day management and leadership of the ECOWind programme, working closely with the programme funders to ensure it achieves its full potential, all commissioning and delivery risks are managed appropriately, and all stakeholders are engaged effectively.

The ECOWind Champion role will be delivered by an individual or organisation who may, or may not, propose delegating some of the more technical aspects of the role to other members of a Champion team. The appointed Champion will be critical for the successful day to day management and leadership of the ECOWind programme, working closely with the programme funders to ensure it achieves its full potential, all commissioning and delivery risks are managed appropriately, and all stakeholders are engaged effectively. In so doing the Champion will also ensure there is effective integration with ongoing research and evidence-building initiatives inside and outside government across the UK (e.g. the wider Offshore Wind Evidence and Change (OWEC) Programme and other initiatives such as Offshore Wine Enabling Actions Programme (OWEAP)) to avoid duplication and maximise added value to the UK through strong alignment and partnership.How to Apply
