Scope
Description
The council is in the process of building a new build crematorium and bereavement centre located at the Former Outdoor Centre, Mepal, UK. The key aims of this new facility is to provide a beautiful and sustainable alternative to the residents of East Cambridgeshire and surrounding area. To assist with this aim, it has been decided that an electric cremator will be installed.
Production, supply and installation of an electric cremator and supporting equipment, as listed below.
Supporting equipment includes
· Automatic charging bier
· Attachment for automatic charging bier for little cremations
· Control system
· Extraction box above the oven entry
· Crematoria Emissions Monitoring system
· Reporting tool
· Single Stream Filtration installation
· Raking box and tools
· Ash pan lift
· Ash pan trolley
· Cremulator
· Ash treatment table with ashpan storage
· Electric driven coffin trolley
· Remote control for charging
· Secondary heat exchanger
Training of operatives on the equipment supplied and ongoing maintenance contract with UK based provider.
The provision of the electric cremator needs to be within the constraints of the new building, changing the build layout at this stage is not a possibility due to cost implications for redesign work.
The floor area available in the cremator hall for the cremator and the supporting equipment is 71m2. This does not include the floor area that has been allocated for the committal hall.
There is also the constraint for the delivery and installation of the cremator to fit with the build programme, with an anticipated installation date of March 2026.
