UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) wishes to establish a Contract for the provision of chiller, air source heat pump and dry air coolers maintenance, reactive and remedial works at its Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

This contract will cover chiller, air source heat pump and dry air coolers maintenance, reactive and remedial works at the following STFC sites:

a. The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), in Oxfordshire.

b. The STFC Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire.

c. The Cosener’s House, in Abingdon.

Currently there are no assets in Chilbolton or Cosener’s House, but this may change over the contract term.

The agreement shall be in place from 1st March 2022 for an initial period of 3 years until 28th February 2025, with an option to extend for an additional year until 28th February 2026 (3 + 1 years).

The estimated value of the opportunity is up to £440,000 excl. VAT across a potential 4 year term, broken down approximately as follows:

Planned Preventative Maintenance - up to £40,000 per year

Reactive and Remedial Works - up £60,000 per year

Inclusion of additional assets – up to £10,000 per year

UKRI is managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as may be amended from time to time) (the “Regulations”).

UKRI is procuring the Contract for its exclusive use.

UKRI shall utilise the e-sourcing portal Delta and all correspondence and submission of documents must be through that portal. Suppliers are to utilise the messaging system within the e-sourcing tool within the timescales detailed in this document.
