two.1.4) Short description

Contract for the delivery of advocacy services across Teesside (Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees). The advocacy services to be offered are:

• Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA);

• Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA);

• Care Act Advocacy (CAA);

• Paid Relevant Person's Representative (RPR); and

• Non-Statutory (General) Advocacy.

The contractor is responsible for setting up and managing a central 'hub' through which all referrals and requests for advocacy will be directed and coordinated across a supply chain of sub-contracted additional advocacy providers. The contractor is responsible for ensuring there is sufficient capacity to meet all of the relevant advocacy demands of people living in the area.

The successful tenderer will be required to manage the changes anticipated with the proposed Liberty Protection Safeguards in regards to the advocacy services required as a result.

This contract is being let by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, and Middlesbrough Council, with Stockton acting as the lead commissioner.
