Historic Environment Scotland (HES) intends to award this contract under the conditions of regulation 33.4.b(ii) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) regulations. The Contract will include maintenance services for digital scanning equipment used within the National Collection of Aerial Photography (NCAP).

The scope of the maintenance services provided will include:

- Annual on-site preventative maintenance

- Software updates

- Spare parts

- Customer support

Increase in the number of machines to be covered by the maintenance agreement.

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

Increase in the number of scanners to be brought under the maintenance agreement. The additional scanners are also legacy equipment and no longer commercially available. Therefore, the necessary support and service engineers, along with a stock of spare parts, can only be provided by the Supplier.
