NGN has an ongoing requirement for the application of Paint and other protective coatings to its infrastructure assets and as such is in the process of procuring a Framework Agreement as an above threshold procurement event for the provision of such a service with the expectation that this process will conclude by end 2023. Whilst this procurement event is being undertaken NGN has a short term requirement to conclude works of a similar nature and it has become evident that this particular contract will cause the total spend since 2021 to be in excess of the procurement threshold. This notice relates directly to painting work being performed at NGN's Above Ground Installations (Regulators) which needs to be completed before the winter months.

Explanation:

NGN has an ongoing requirement for the application of Paint and other protective coatings to its infrastructure assets and as such is in the process of procuring a Framework Agreement as an above threshold procurement event for the provision of such a service with the expectation that this process will conclude by end 2023. Whilst this procurement event is being undertaken NGN has a short term requirement to conclude works of a similar nature and it has become evident that this particular contract will cause the total spend since 2021 to be in excess of the procurement threshold. This notice relates directly to painting work being performed at NGN's Above Ground Installations (Regulators) which needs to be completed before the winter months. and is in line with regulation 50 50 (1) Utilities may use the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition in the following cases- (f) for new works or services consisting in the repetition of similar works or services assigned to the contractor to which the same utility awarded an earlier contract, provided that such works or services conform to a basic project for which a first contract was awarded following a procedure in accordance with regulation 44(1) and (2)
