two.1.4) Short description

Tenders are invited for the application of herbicide to the Highways, footways and associated features in the borough of South Tyneside.

The Service shall normally consist of three applications during the growing season, with the option of an additional fourth. Spraying to take place between March and November annually. South Tyneside Council will work with the contractor to determine the programme and timings of sprays annually.

The Contractor shall only carry out the Service during appropriate weather conditions to ensure effective treatment, avoid spray drift, contamination of watercourses and the like.

Any review proceedings should be promptly brought to the attention of the South Tyneside Council Head

of Legal Services at Town Hall & Civic Offices, Westoe Road, South Shields NE33 2RL and will be dealt

within accordance with the requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 ("PCR 2015"). Any

review proceedings must be brought within the timescales specified by the applicable law, including, without

limitation, PCR 2015. In accordance with PCR 2015, the Council will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day

standstill period from the date information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers.
