seven.2.1) Description of the modifications
Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):
The value of the engineering/telecommunications professional services framework contract (Lot 1), to support the EV Managed Charging Innovation.. The value of Lot 1 will be increased from £1.4m to £2.3m.
seven.2.2) Reasons for modification
Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
NIE Networks received funding for the EV Managed Charging Innovation project from the Utility Regulator as part of The Green Recovery Scheme following award of the contract.This is an essential project that need to be completed before the end of October 2024. NIE Networks are extending (Lot 1) for a further 12 month period and have increased the value to ensure sufficient funds to cover the EV Managed Charging Innovation project. It is our intention to commence a new procurement exercise in March 2023 to replace the Engineering/Telecommunication Professional Services framework agreement.
