two.2.4) Description of the procurement

There are 3 areas of the Trust that require the use of cardiovascular imaging technology to be able to diagnose and treat patients that suffer from cardiovascular and vascular problems. The purpose of the upgrade of ISCV and the infrastructure it resides on, is to create an architecture that can support the 3 departments and align the cardiovascular areas of the hospital so data is interchangeable between clinical staff and areas for a consolidated view of the patient and data. It is also to bring the various areas back into support for cardiovascular imaging and reporting.

A project is underway to standardise all cardiology departments within GSTT onto the same Philips operating system, ISCV v.6.1.
Adults Cardiology utilise GE Image Vault which is connected to the GE modalities for primary DICOM images for ultrasound scanners. The server these ImageVault data are stored on is currently unsupported. A new storage solution is required for this Adult Cardiology Image data to be migrated to via ISCV v.6.1.

The Trust is pursuing several opportunities for longer-term Apollo storage. This tender represents one such potential option. GSTT hasn’t established how they’re going to deal with image storage for cardiology/Apollo storage etc. As a potential (but not guaranteed) expansion of scope, this contract could potentially evolve into a conduit for providing these elements.
