The Specialist Explosive Ordinance Demolition, Exploitation & Countermeasures (SEEC) Delivery Team (DT) have launched a project to procure and support explosive particle detection equipment. The user requires a deployable and robust explosive particle detector capability to conduct search of buildings and other infrastructure to give immediate indication of the presence or lack of explosive Particles for common and bespoke explosive threat substances, or components thereof, permitting subsequent activity. The authority will be purchasing detectors to equip at least 2 search teams with 20 detectors.
The intention is to award a 5-year contract plus 2 option years to one supplier to deliver this requirement. The estimated value of this requirement is ~£3.5m.
