two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The procurement is to improve gigabit capable full fibre connectivity and the provision of in-building assistive technology, and telecare services to the Adult Residential Care homes in the City of Newport.
The scope of the project are the three Newport City Council care homes as follows:
- Spring Gardens Care Centre
- Parklands Residential Care
- Blaen -Y-Pant
The following will be provided in all three buildings:
- The provision of a full fibre connectivity with an initial speed of 10GBps but also the capability of being fully scalable at a fixed price over the contract period using an IRU
- The upgrade of in-building infrastructure including routers, Wi-Fi access points and the potential installation of sensors
- An overlay of IoT based telecare applications including monitoring and environmental control.
