Section four. Procedure
four.1) Description
four.1.1) Type of procedure
Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the cases listed below
- The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the regulations
Explanation:
TPE's current fleet of TVMs will no longer be supported by the supplier due to life expired components. TPE has a contractual option to extend for two years and given this, business continuity, system resilience and affordability it is deemed the optimal approach to take this extension albeit with new hardware. This will also minimise change impact as any change in contracting partner at this juncture would cause significant inconvenience and substantial duplication of cost. Such award and extension allows for continuity of services to support the business at a lower cost with minimal relative additional cost of hardware implementation. The two year extension is an interim solution pending further review which will take into account influencing factors impacting future solutions and any activity thereafter will also be in accordance with the regulations with respect to prior publication.
