A consultant is required for the scheme design development to achieve a full and complete bridge refurbishment scheme at the Grade II listed Bridge, located in the Sculcoates ward, to the satisfaction of Historic England.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The suitably experienced and qualified specialist consultant shall develop the scheme design so that the Authority is in a position to commission the works.

Due to the scale and complexity of the scheme, significant aspects of its development shall be undertaken in liaison with the appointed works contractor to undertake investigations and consultation to ensure that the outline designs and specifications are both comprehensive and buildable. This method of collaborative working shall enable the finalisation of the design and specifications and the agreement of approvals consents.

As well as being the Principal Designer, the consultant shall also continue to provide ongoing project/contract management and site supervision services for during the construction phase of the scheme through to the close of the defects liability period.
