NHS North West London requires the provision of Wheelchair services and would like to invite any interested suppliers to a market engagement event on 5th September 2023, from 12:30 – 13:30 via MS teams.

The objective of this engagement is to help the commissioner finalise the service model, procurement strategy, and financial model.

Market Engagement

The aim of the service is to provide a comprehensive quality service of assessment, supply and maintenance/repair of wheelchairs and associated seating equipment for users who are registered with a GP in NWL ICB encompassing the following elements:
1. Equipment provision and maintenance
2. Repairs
3. Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of powered and Manual chairs
4. Staffing


The Service will provide:
-Assessment, prescription and provision of manual and powered wheelchairs, and associated postural accessories;
-Repair and maintenance services; and
-Rehabilitation engineering services


The service will deliver the following key elements:
-Provision of the wheelchair and associated equipment within agreed timescales to the Service User;
-Provision of on-going support and advice to Service Users (or carers if appropriate) in the use of their wheelchair and seating;
-Maintenance of equipment, emergency repairs, planned preventative maintenance, storage of wheelchairs, collections, deliveries and service for re-issue of wheelchairs and associated postural seating equipment;
-Accurate and up to date information on wheelchair availability and variety;
-Accurate and up to date records on assessment, provision, re-assessment, discharges, repairs & maintenance, collection, recycled and decontamination & decommissioned wheelchairs;
-Cost and operational efficiencies through effectively managing stock and service delivery for the Service Users.
