The River Lugg Internal Drainage Board (the Board) works with other public bodies to provide a public service by continuing to manage water levels for the overall benefit of people, property, commerce, industry, agriculture and the aquatic environment within the defined Drainage District.

The Board is responsible for water level management and watercourse management in a defined geographical area which encompasses low-lying land within the catchment areas of the Rivers Lugg, Arrow and Frome and Worm Brook in total 11,171 Ha with 222km of scheduled smaller tributary watercourses across Herefordshire.

The works lie within the boundaries of the River Lugg Internal Drainage Board and comprise the ordinary watercourses in the current year's maintenance scheme by the Board
