It is the intention of Heart Academies Trust (HEART) to procure a service provider to create, lead and operate a fully outsourced sustainability and procurement shared service which is focused on the Education Sector.

By adopting a 'stronger together' approach and a commitment to positive collaboration, we believe the creation of the shared service will enable HEART, other schools and trusts, as well the wider public sector drive improved sustainable, social impact and procurement outcomes at pace.

Our belief is that sustainable procurement takes a wider view and incorporates the net benefits for HEART, the Education Sector, suppliers and the wider community . The shared service will consider the impact of environmental, economic and social factors along with price and quality for all activity, through which customers can maximise the positive impact we can create

Our aim is to create a sustainability and procurement shared services with the following objectives:

• Ensure financial, ethical and procurement compliance with Education Sector best practices.

• Release vital cashable savings back into the Education Sector (or the relevant Contracting Authority).

• Build buyer and supplier capability with a focus on social value and sustainability.

• Improve outcomes and supplier performance.

• Create social value impact and outcomes with a focus on training, and career opportunities supporting schools core purpose.

• Drive ethical and sustainable practices both in Education and within the supply chain.

• Enhance schools capabilities and compliance around sustainability and social impact.

The services are to be delivered onsite based on customer requirements.
