Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
The Authority has reasonable grounds to argue that the extension of the Contract is justifiable under regulation 72(1)(b) because the additional services are necessary to enable the courts to operate safely and lawfully while the heightened hygiene standards are in force and that re-procuring the services now would inevitably result in a break in services which would lead to “significant inconvenience” for the Authority, the judiciary, the legal profession and for court users. In addition, the increase in value of the Contract does not exceed 50% of the original value of the Contract.
