two.1.4) Short description

Brent Council is conducting soft market engagement with relevant service providers in relation to its Highways Services (planned schemes and planned maintenance, specialist services (e.g. gully cleansing) and reactive maintenance) arrangements from 1 April 2023 onward, when the Council’s existing contract for these services is due to end.

The Council wishes to understand the potential level of interest within the private sector to provide these services in Brent. It would also like to engage specifically on the procurement options it is considering for the contract, the intended contract scope, and how service providers might operate alongside an in-house Council Direct Service Organisation (DSO) service that would deliver a proportion of the in-scope functions (e.g. Highways reactive maintenance).

This engagement is intended to raise awareness of the Council’s requirements for the service and to help inform the development of its procurement strategy, whilst also providing an opportunity for service providers to contribute to the design of future service delivery.
