The UK Space Agency (UKSA) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). As part of its work to grow the space sector and promote the benefits of using space technology and services within the UK Government and around the globe, the UKSA is proud to be contribute to the International Charter: Space and Major Disasters, working alongside industry and international partners to assist those in need.
The Charter aims to provide a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery to those affected by natural or man-made disasters. Further details on the Charter can be found at https://disasterscharter.org/.
The UK has been a Charter member since 2005 and wishes to continue to play an active leadership role. UKSA has a requirement for specialist operational support to ensure the Charter is performing effectively, interfacing effectively with existing and any potential new data providers and users and ensuring there is optimal awareness and uptake of the Charter within the UK Government and with selected overseas partners.
