Scope
Description
This essential service will continue in delivering the supply chain network that supports the commissioning and deployment of vaccine for NHS England (NHSE) to front-line destinations across all sectors, including Community Pharmacies, General Practitioners, Detained Estates, and various other facilities, reaching over 9,000 locations. This initiative will replace an existing contract, which currently provides a service characterised by delivery frequency, speed, and flexibility that cannot be matched by any other operation within the NHSE structure. The objective of this case is to establish a supply chain, delivery, and deployment solution applicable to all vaccination and screening programmes within the NHSE portfolio. This will be achieved by enhancing capacity, capability, operational effectiveness and efficiency, to reach destinations with a frequency aligned with their demand, thus offering a unique service proposition that benefits NHS, providers and systems more broadly, ensuring value for money, and leverage economies of scale through the multi-vaccine delivery on a single vehicle. It will build upon the existing performance, skills, and services derived from the COVID-19 programme, which has successfully administered over 150 million vaccines to date.
