The University is seeking a partner (the Supplier) to provide support to the network team

maintaining the campus firewalls. Support will include license renewals, highly responsive technical

expertise to resolve technical problems, ensure seamless major version upgrades, provide bi-annual

review and recommendations on best use of the firewall investment and support enabling any

existing licensed capabilities which are not utilised to their full potential. Further, the Supplier

should have experience of configuring Check Point Quantum for optimal configuration and

integration with Security information and event management (SIEM) and Security Operations Centre

(SOC) products.

Due to the licencing model of the firewall supplier the next licencing scale is to move to 16 CPU cores substantially increasing licencing costs.

Due to the very high threat environment and the large number of HE institutions that have been compromised over the last year we have been advised there is requirement to increase the level of security checks on traffic entering the firewalls.
