NW2800 - CDE and Data Governance Platform including implementation services
Northumbrian Water Limited (NWL) deliver both regulated and non-regulated water and wastewater services, one of 10 such providers in the UK, to over 4.2m customers, operating principally in the North-East of England and Essex and Suffolk. The business is headquartered in Durham and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cheung Kong Hutchison Holdings (CKHH), based in Hong Kong, as well as partly owned by the USA company. The business turns over £900m and has circa 3200 UK based employees. The business is recognised as a leading customer service organisation with strong ethical values. The purpose of this Expression of Interest is to shortlist suppliers to tender for a digital solution and implementation services to meet the NWL Common Data Environment (CDE) and data governance platform requirements.
[Requirement]
Currently, NWL relies on partners CDE's to manage capital delivery project information, and at the end of the project, only a few documents are transferred to the NWL digital infrastructure (SharePoint). A wealth of information is lost and not kept by NWL for future reference.
NWL are looking to buy a client-side Common Data Environment (CDE) platform for the collaboration and management of capital delivery project documentation (2D and 3D), which will allow NWL to host the information management throughout the capital delivery lifecycle.
Capital Project Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and Asset Information Requirements (AIR) are currently supported by spreadsheet templates which are difficult to complete and monitor for compliance. NWL are also looking for a Data Governance platform which will improve the way in which we collect information throughout capital projects and monitor for quality and compliance. The Data Governance Tool will provide clear visibility of any potential incomplete/non-compliant data required for easy remediation prior to handover.
Once a project is complete, the structured and unstructured information curated in the CDE will be transferred to NWL Corporate systems (IBM Maximo, GIS, SharePoint Digital Filing Cabinet (DFC), etc...) where the information will be mastered for future projects and operations.
The NWL Asset Intelligence team are custodians of structured and unstructured data within the corporate master systems. They will use the Data Governance Tool to build and impart Northumbrian Water data standards for asset interventions and have the capability to view progress, quality, compliance, and completeness.
