The Council would like to invite all interested potential Providers to a Supply Market Awareness Event.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The City of Edinburgh Council would like to engage with potential Providers who can provide the support of the requirements for Secure Transport for Children and Young People.
The City of Edinburgh Council require a Contract for the provision of a Secure Transport Service for Children and Young People who may be remanded to secure care through the Courts or for those who are considered to be in need of secure care for their own protection through the Children's Hearing System.
A Provider will be required to transfer children and young people to locations at Relevant Premises such as, care, Court, Children's Hearing, hospitals and others as and when requested.
It is expected that any Provider looking to deliver this Service will be;
Committed to delivering a trauma informed, rights respecting and child centred Service;
Familiar with the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, good practice guidance around the use of restraint and the evolving guidance on the Secure Care Pathways and Standards;
Familiar with Scottish Court and Children’s Hearings processes and routes to local and Scotland wide secure care premises, Courts and Children’s Hearings Centres;
Have sufficient locally based resources and efficient management systems to minimise travel times both for the benefit of the child/young person and to minimise the impact to the environment; and
Be prepared to undertake longer journeys across the UK if required.

Supply Market Awareness Event
The City of Edinburgh Council would like to engage with potential Providers who have the capability and capacity to meet the requirements outlined within the Briefing Document. The format of the event will be a presentation from the service area, followed by a question and answer session to enable potential Providers with the opportunity to clarify elements of the Service.
The City of Edinburgh Council intends to hold the virtual Supply Market Awareness Event on Tuesday 27th September at 10:00am via Microsoft Teams.
