NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (N&WICB) reviewed options for the provision of Adult Community Eating Disorders Services. The ICB invited expressions of interests from suitably qualified and experienced providers to inform their thinking about the Level of market interest and what potential capacity providers can offer across Norfolk and Waveney. The Service looked to establish a single provider across Norfolk and Waveney, to deliver specialist community adult eating disorder services across the ICS. The service will support eating disorders as per the ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases - 10th Revision) and DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - 5th Edition), through the provision of evidence-based interventions as part of a 'core' service offer.

The ICB invited expressions of interests from suitably qualified and experienced providers to inform their thinking about the Level of market interest and what potential capacity providers can offer across Norfolk and Waveney. The Service looked to establish a single provider across Norfolk and Waveney, to deliver specialist community adult eating disorder services across the ICS. The service will support eating disorders as per the ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases - 10th Revision) and DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - 5th Edition), through the provision of evidence-based interventions as part of a 'core' service offer.
The service will be informed by the NHS Adult Eating Disorders: Community, Inpatient and Intensive Day Patient Care - Guidance for commissioners and providers and its appendices and for delivery of interventions as set out in the NICE Eating Disorders Quality Standard and NICE - Eating Disorders: recognition and treatment.
Additionally, the service will include the provision of:
FREED (First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders),
ICST (Intensive Community Support Team)
Carers' Support Services
Support to Primary Care who undertake medical monitoring
Similarly, the service will have the ability and perspective to mobilise further services as part of the Norfolk and Waveney All-Age eating Disorders Strategy, such as ARFID (Avoidant / Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) provision in conjunction with the Integrated Care System (ICS).
Providers were asked to express an interest and were required to respond to a series of questions which were scored on a "Pass/Fail" basis. The scoring criteria for each question is stipulated within the question. Only one provider scored a "Pass" on all "Pass/Fail" questions and was deemed as compliant & capable. The Commissioner reserved the right to direct award to provider(s) with no further competition where there was a single provider expressing an interest and scored a "Pass" on all "Pass/Fail" questions..
