Within these hubs general input will be around employment, housing and finances, relationships, and psychological wellbeing and acquisition of skills such as emotion regulation or anxiety management.
A number of positive outcomes are expected from providing more community-based care for people with eating disorders or disordered eating. One such outcome will be earlier support and intervention for those who may be at risk of developing an eating disorder, and therefore reduced demand on specialist services. It is also anticipated that people will be able to step down from specialist services earlier, and that the risk of relapse will be reduced or will be identified and escalated more quickly. It is hoped that those living with an eating disorder will have access to a more holistic form of support to that available in specialist services, which will contribute to improved quality of life overall.
