four.1) Description

four.1.1) Type of procedure

Negotiated without a prior call for competition

Explanation:

Glass Futures Limited (GFL) is a not-for-profit research and technology organisation and is creating a world-first Global Centre of Excellence – an experimental research and development (R&D) and training glass facility, with the long-term goal of making glass the low carbon material of choice. GFL intends to appoint MAGMA Combustion Engineering Limited t/a Unicat Technologies to relocate and reinstall an existing combustion test bed, and purchase additional combustion test bed equipment from.

As the orginial OEM, Magma have been identified as the only supplier who can move the equipment without causing a severe risk to persons and property. Additionally, as a machine that runs on volatile gases, the additional purchase combustion test bed equipment must be aligned to the existing machines system capability to avoid further serious health and safety risks.

We will be utilising the use of a negotiated procedure without prior publication as competition for this piece of equipment is absent for technical reasons.

Glass Futures will undertake a 10-day standstill period. If no challenges are received during the standstill period, Glass Futures will continue to award the contract to MAGMA Combustion Engineering Limited t/a Unicat Technologies. The standstill period will end at midnight on Monday 12th August 2024.
