This requirement is for a community-based step-down facility which will accept transfers from the onsite Lane Fox Respiratory unit at St Thomas’ Hospital to increase capacity and support patient recovery in a non-acute setting. Specifically, the step-down facility will provide highly specialised satellite respiratory services for ventilated patients (invasive mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation) for mainly single organ failure patients.
