East Herts Council (EHC) and North Herts Council (NHC), "The Councils" operate waste & recycling collections and street cleansing services as a shared service. The Councils intend to procure services which include, kerbside collection services for recycling and waste, street cleansing activities across The Councils districts and the bulking and storage of collected materials at a waste transfer station in Buntingford, Hertfordshire for a contract start in May 2025. The approximate value of the contract is £10m pa.The Councils wish to engage with prospective bidders in a pre-procurement market engagement exercise, prior to proceeding with the tendering process. If you wish to participate in the pre-procurement market engagement exercise please read the pre-procurement market engagement information and complete the questionnaire.The councils will consider the feedback received to help inform their options and further decision making. For the avoidance of doubt, this stage of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the councils are not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process. Participation or non-participation in the PPME shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of the PPME shall place any supplier at an advantage in a potential procurement process. Participation in the PPME will be at each organisation’s own cost. No expense in responding to this PPME will be reimbursed by the Councils.
