two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has one site (HMP Risley) which uses industrial singles washed coal to provide heating and hot water to site.

Estimated consumption is 1500 tonnes per annum, with deliveries to site varying between 1-3 x 20 tonne deliveries per week, depending on time of year.

MOJ will be publishing a contract notice for the supply of coal as set out above over the anticipated period of 01.01.23-31.12.25 (three-years)

Suppliers are requested to respond to a) to c) set out in II.2.14) Additional information. Responses received to a) to c) will help inform MOJ's procurement.

Following responses to this PIN, the Authority reserves the right not to publish the contract notice and to use a different procurement approach.
